A group for anyone who wants to camp — solo campers, families of five with two dogs and a parrot, first-timers, and lifers. No sermons required, just good company and God's creation.
How it started
My name is Haley Soltau, and my family has been with Genesis Church since the theater. While my husband doesn't camp, my son Evan and I love it. In 2024, I mentioned how I kept trying to camp at Jetty Park for beach baptisms, but it's always full. A friend I'd assumed wasn't into camping told me she'd love that too.
"It's easy to make assumptions about who likes camping and who doesn't."
So I talked with the pastors, and the Genesis Family Camping Group was born. Anyone is welcome — solo campers, families of five with two dogs and a parrot, seasoned campers, or someone trying it for the very first time.
The purpose of this group is fellowship. There's something about camping together that brings people closer — a chance to unwind, talk, laugh, and eat. We won't have sermons at our events, but we encourage you to bring a devotional and dive deeper into His word while enjoying the world He created. When it's all over, you'll smile at the memories, because you simply had to be there.

Trade the ocean for spring-fed lakes at this sprawling state park in the Clermont hills. Camping sites are fully booked for this one, but the park itself is open to visit for the day.

A large campground with lots going on — right in the middle of our stay, the park hosts the Space Coast Holiday Food Fest & Craft Fair. Add hiking trails, disc golf, and a beach only 15 minutes away, and the hardest part is deciding what to do first.

North America's largest RV show rolls into Tampa for its 41st year. We won't all be camping together for this one, but however you're attending, join us Saturday night for dinner.

Tentative for now — a 3-day weekend at our local campground, just 15 minutes from church. We're hoping to snag Moss Park's large group site so all 6 of our camps/tents can stay together in one spot.
